I have made an application on behalf of my brother Mr Julian Pauncefote, the Attorney-General of Hong Kong, for any Judgeship which may become vacant in India; and in order to support it by a Testimonial, I shall esteem it a great favour if the Secretary of State for the Colonies will grant me one expressing his opinion of the manner in which my brother has discharged his duties in his present office.
I have the honor to be,
Your most obedient Servant
B. Pauncefote.
